My desire to write first manifested in 1995. Her name was Marilyn. A combination of fascinating and deadly, she crashed into my life unannounced, turning it upside down.

Dangerous yet alluring, Marilyn impacted all around her, not just me.You may have heard of her. This Marilyn caused me and many others to live like campers in our own homes, barricaded inside with candlelight and no electricity.

During that momentous night of September 14th, while she was battering Guadeloupe with 80 mph winds and torrential rain, I started penning my first novel—old style, with a fountain pen and physical notebook.

Yes, Marilyn was a hurricane 🤭

Unfortunately, once Marilyn passed and life returned to normal, the writing took a backseat. I did start 3 subsequent novels, but never finished them.

I kept waiting for another Marilyn, another event that would provide the inspiration to see a project through to completion. Writing a novel is a mammoth task. It takes a lot from you, for a significant amount of time. Maybe it’s too much for me at this time.

So, last year, I decided to lower the bar and try my hand at short stories . You see, growing up I really enjoyed fables with a moral. LaFontaine and Aesop style.

So I followed in their footsteps. Initially, I wrote 4 stories, each centered around a season, and called the collection “The Four Seasons.”

It was well received, so I carried on.  “Tales of Angels and Men” followed, then “Lessons for Living.”

My stories range from realistic fiction to fantasy, but they always have a moral, just like a fable.

I’ve compiled them into a book, the first volume of what I hope will be many more. You can get your copy here or here

In the meantime, enjoy, and please leave a rating!
